This page shares my opinion based on the experiences I have had being at the different restaurants, food joints in Delhi and around. So know what Delhi restaurants have to offer!

Momo’s Point – Kamla Nagar, Delhi University

Located in a by lane of Kamla Nagar, Momos Point has no remarkable feature that makes it stand out amongst sister restaurants, but once you have eaten here, you are committed for life. Situated right behind the bookshops of Bungalow Road, this Chinese/Japanese/Thai food joint has various tempting dishes to offer at an extremely pocket-friendly rate to its Delhi University clientele.

The momos are delicious and sinful, not to forget the red chilly chutney that makes it a mouth-watering experience so much so that you can’t stop craving for them long after. The variety of momos at offer ranges from steamed to fried and even half-steamed-half-fried kothey. It’s a tough choice deciding between vegetable, chicken or pork momos since one plate is stomach full. I am a momos fan and the chicken steamed momos served here win hands down.

Amongst starters I tried crispy fried baby corn and crispy fried potatoes. These, I would recommend everyone to try, specially the potatoes. Again, the quantity is more than sufficient for two. They are a good combination of sweet and spice.

Vegetable fried rice, vegetable chowmein and vegetable chopsuey are prepared well with just the right amount of ingredients to make me faithfully visit the joint time and again. A lot of friends praise the thukpa as well which is a soup-like dish.

A word of caution: make sure you are not too hungry when you plan to visit Momo’s Point during the day as there is a waiting time which ranges between 10-30 minutes owing to its steady inflow of regular clients. Once I participated as a silent onlooker in a discussion with friends about Momo’s Point where space was a marked concern. Eventually we came to a conclusion that the owners of Momo’s Point, two brothers, need not undertake any expansion project because firstly that would kill the cubbyhole aura and secondly it makes no business sense as the regulars anyways wait on patiently for their turn to nibble on the delights offered.

Contributed by: thinkpad_84
